It's a bit of a lazy Saturday for me and I'm sitting around watching silly cartoons and surfing the 'net. A mid-western teacher colleague of mine that I follow on Twitter shared a really cool web site with me. The folks from the New York Zoos and Aquarium have created a fun web site called BuiLD YouR WiLD SeLF. Summer at VCS!

VCS is undergoing some major improvements this summer! Crews are hard at work making our school look fantastic for the first day of school in late August! We all hope you're having a terrific summer and are enjoying the warm weather! Have fun...we'll see you later in August!

Flag Day 2008

Friday June 13th marked the VCS Flag Day ceremony. This years ceremony was especially meaningful as it was in memory of our longtime flag raiser and friend...Julie Booker. The flagpole has been dedicated in her name and her family participated in our flag day ceremony. Click below to see the images.

SVAC Champions!

Today the Boys Baseball Team defeated China 12-1 to win the SVAC Championship for the second year in a row!

VCS Girls Softball team wins SVAC Championship!

The VCS girls softball team won the SVAC Championship by defeating China 6-5. The Vikings had a terrific run in the playoffs with dramatic come-from-behind victory capped off by a great showing in the finals. Great job girls!

Fun Fair a fantastic success!

This years Fun Fair was a smashing success! The kids had a blast! Karaoke, wall climbing, obstacle course, bouncy house, face-painting and so much more! We had lots of parent volunteers and a whole bunch of Erskine Academy students! Check out the pictures from this year's fun fair!

2008 FUN FAIR!

Join us this Saturday, May 10th for the Annual Fun Fair at VCS! All proceeds raised to benefit VCS kids and programs. Come join us and have some FUN!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! FUN FAIR 2008!

We are in serious danger of having to cancel the Fun Fair this year due to a shortage of Volunteers. The Fun Fair is a major fund raiser for the VCS PTO. Money raised from the Fun Fair is used to help fund the playground, field trips, and more. The decision will be made on Monday, so.....if you can help please let us know right off. Even a short amount of time like an hour would be a big help. With a tough budget year ahead of us a successful fun fair would certainly help to assure field trips and enrichment activities in our school.
